Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes performed another magnificent magic track in the NFL divisional round against the Texans.

And like any great magician, we’re left wondering how he did it.

The two-time league MVP completed a ridiculous 11-yard touchdown to his favorite target, tight end Travis Kelce, while falling to the turf on third down.

Texans defensive tackle Mario Edwards Jr. disengaged from his blocker and attempted to bring Mahomes down as he stepped into the pocket. Before being taken down for a sack, Mahomes flung the ball into the end zone, where Kelce stood between two defenders.

The score expanded Kansas City’s lead to eight, 20-12, after Texans kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn missed an extra point on Houston’s previous possession that would have tied the game at 13.

The play is the latest in Mahomes’ remarkable history of doing just enough when necessary and turning something out of nothing.

He has a penchant for making huge plays when the Chiefs need them the most, and Mahomes began Kansas City’s pursuit of a third consecutive Super Bowl trophy by adding another exhibit to his growing collection.
