LAS VEGAS — Mauricio Ruffy is likely the clubhouse leader for the Knockout of the Year in 2025 after his showing at the UFC’s most recent pay-per-view event.
In the lightweight main card opener of UFC 313, Ruffy faced longtime veteran King Green at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. In a fight that began with a slower, yet methodical pace, Ruffy would throw a punch, followed by an incredible spinning heel kick to the head of Green that knocked him face first to the canvas a little over two minutes into the fight.
The sensational knockout from the Fighting Nerds standout had fellow UFC pros singing his praises, even just flat out saying Ruffy will end 2025 with the best knockout.
Following Ruffy’s seventh consecutive victory — including a 3-0 start to his UFC career since earning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series — Ruffy spoke with reporters backstage at UFC 313 to discuss his spectacular finish, wanting to fight Beneil Dariush next, and more.
