The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the death of Oladele Femi, popularly known as “Tallex,” a key suspect in the chilling murder case involving two students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA).
Femi, who was being held in connection with the abduction and killing of John Abba and his female friend, Eloho Okah, reportedly died in hospital after developing a mysterious illness while in police custody. According to the state police spokesperson, DSP Olushola Ayanlade, Femi had been receiving medical treatment since his arrest and had been frequently hospitalized. His death was officially confirmed on Saturday.
Femi, who served as Abba’s landlord, allegedly confessed to playing a central role in the gruesome crime. The body of Eloho Okah has already been recovered, while efforts are still underway to locate Abba’s remains.
As the investigation deepens, the police have arrested two more suspects—Kola and Michael—for allegedly stealing N800,000 from Abba’s bank account during the period the students were missing. Authorities say the funds were transferred and withdrawn while the victims were still in captivity.
In a major development, the police also recovered a Lexus RX 350 SUV belonging to Abba from one of the suspects, further linking them to the crime.
The case has sparked outrage and concern in the Akungba-Akoko community, with students and residents calling for justice for the slain undergraduates.
