Chelsea have been busy in the transfer market so far this summer, completing deals for no fewer than five players.

Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens, Dario Essugo and Mamadou Sarr have all arrived at Stamford Bridge, while youngster Estevao Willian has also joined the club after the Blues agreed a deal to sign the attacker last summer.

Enzo Maresca’s side have won both the Europa Conference League and FIFA Club World Cup over the past few months, and the Italian will want to see his side continue to impress next term.

The West London side will also compete in the Champions League after finishing fourth in the Premier League last season, and Maresca will hope to see his side reach the latter stages of the competition.

In the meantime, though, it appears that one of the most promising youngsters at Stamford Bridge is set to depart permanently.

As reported by football.london, young defender Ishe Samuels-Smith is set to complete a move to French side Strasbourg.

It is claimed that there has been a breakthrough on personal terms in negotiations and the teenage defender is now set to join the Ligue 1 side – who are under the same ownership group as Chelsea – permanently.

Samuels-Smith, 19, joined Chelsea from Premier League rivals Everton two years ago but hasn’t since featured for the Blues at senior level.

The teenager is set to become the ninth player to depart Stamford Bridge permanently so far this summer, with the London side raising more than £160 million in initial transfer fees.

Noni Madueke, Joao Felix and Kepa Arrizabalaga are among those to have departed SW6, but Samuels-Smith is now set to become the latest to do so.

The versatile defender can play at left-back or as a central defender.
