The Tensor G6 will be a significant upgrade
The Pixel 10 series is only a few months away from launch, but we’re already hearing about 2026’s Pixel 11 handsets.
According to this report, the Pixel 11 will feature a TSMC-made Tensor G6 chip with a 2nm fabrication design, which will perform better than 2025’s 3nm Tensor G5.
If Qualcomm uses another 3nm process next year with its 2026 flagship chip, this would put Google ahead of the chip maker. Google has been playing catch-up ever since the launch of the Tensor G1 chip, so this may help the Pixel flagships perform better than the other Android alternatives. Qualcomm isn’t rumoured to switch to a 3nm process this year, and neither is Apple.
However, in terms of benchmarks, Google’s Tensor chips are pretty behind Qualcomm’s when comparing apples to apples (3nm process to another 3nm chipset). It may take a lot more for Google to catch up with Qualcomm.
This was first reported by Taiwan’s Commercial Times.
Anywho, this is over a year away and is just a rumour, so take it with a grain of salt. Besides, Google is rumoured to launch the Pixel 10 series on August 13, so lets get that out of the way first.
