Kevin Paredes will unfortunately start the 2025-26 Bundesliga season on the sidelines.
Paredes underwent a procedure on his foot this week, which will sideline him for the foreseeable future, Wolfsburg announced Tuesday. The American winger featured in two summer friendlies against Espanyol and Feyenoord before undergoing the procedure.
A former DC United product, Paredes was reduced to only two appearances last season due to a recurring foot issue. The 22-year-old enjoyed positive seasons from
2022-24, totaling four goals and adding three assists.
In total, Paredes has made 57 appearances for Wolfsburg since joining from DC United in January 2022.
He’s earned three caps for the U.S. men’s national team to date since debuting in 2023.
Paredes’ new absence could hamper his fight to get back into the USMNT picture this fall.
