Dan Burn declaring that he had ‘nothing but good wishes’ for his ‘mate’ Alexander Isak and is just happy that the whole transfer saga is at an end.

England play Andorra on Saturday and the fact that the Newcastle defender was chosen for media duties today alongside Thomas Tuchel, surely points to Dan Burn getting his third cap tomorrow.

“But I have been in the game long enough now to understand what goes on and I wish Alex all the best.

“Apart from obviously when we play Liverpool.”

This is the September 2025 international schedule for Newcastle United players:

Thursday 4 September

Slovakia 2 Germany 0

Nick Woltemade making his third appearance for Germany but starved of service. Germany missing many of their best players, especially creatively. Germany deservedly beaten in their opening World Cup group qualifier. Rudiger and Tah especially poor in defence.

Bruno Guimaraes putting in a top class performance in this dominant World Cup group qualifier victory. Topping it off by scoring the third and final goal, Bruno rated man of the match.
