If you’re fast and lucky, you can find an OLED gaming monitor for around the $500 mark. But it’s going to be entry level (for whatever that means in an otherwise premium segment), generally going with 27-inch QHD panels maxing out at a 240Hz speed, or lower. Today Newegg is offering an MSI monitor that boosts up to 360Hz, for $550 after a coupon. Nice.

The MSI MAG 271QPX does indeed have a 27-inch, 1440p panel, but that boost to 360Hz of refresh makes it about twice as fast as you could get in this format and price a year ago. It’s a great pick if you prefer your games online and competitive, assuming you’ve got hardware that can push out more than three hundred frames a second in games like Counter-Strike and Fortnite. And unlike some other OLEDs at this price, you get USB-C video support…though at only 15 watts of charging, it’s still not the best monitor companion for a power-hungry gaming laptop.

Get in on this one fast. According to Newegg’s listing the sale ends in 13 hours, so closing at roughly midnight central US time. It’s already $100 off the $750 retail price, plus another $100 off if you add the promo code SSE636 at checkout, which is still active at the time of writing. Those savings would be more than enough to add on a nice monitor arm (fully VESA compatible). If it’s not quite what you’re looking for, then check out PCWorld’s roundup of the best monitors.
