Karl-Anthony Towns made quite the strong impression in his first season with the New York Knicks, and now he’s receiving praise from the team’s other star talent.

In an interview with GamesHub, Jalen Brunson sang high praise for his All-NBA teammate, talking about what Towns brings to the table in a time where the Knicks are entering a championship window. Towns was traded to the Knicks from the Minnesota Timberwolves just before last season in exchange for Donte DiVincenzo and Julius Randle.

“He’s been phenomenal for us, in the locker room has been great,” Brunson said. “On the court, he’s been great. The things that he’s been able to do in a short period of time being a Knick has been amazing.”

“Having him as a teammate has been really fun. I think that gets overlooked how good of a teammate he is. Obviously, he’s a great player and what he does on the court. But the teammate he is and what he brings to the locker room for us is special. So I’m really happy to have him,” Brunson added.

Towns averaged 24.4 points, and 12.8 rebounds per game in his first season with the Knicks. He was named an All-Star for the fifth time, and All-NBA for the third time. Towns was also a catalyst in helping the Knicks embark on their memorable run to their Eastern Conference Finals last season, the first appearance in the ECF for the Knicks since 2000.

Heading into this season, Towns and the Knicks are looking to take last season’s success a step further as they look to earn their first championship since 1973.
