Terry G has responded to critics who doubt his success, saying their negativity often stems from childhood conditioning
He explained that many Nigerians grew up hearing discouraging words from parents and unknowingly carry that mindset into adulthood, which keeps them stuck in failure.
He urged people to break the cycle and embrace positivity.
Nigerian singer, Gabriel Oche Amanyi, popularly known as Terry G, has addressed critics who often flood his social media with negative comments, particularly those doubting his success.
In a recent Instagram story, the eccentric artiste pointed out that many people who express discouragement or hate online are not truly speaking their own minds but rather echoing the voices they grew up hearing at home.
According to him, constant exposure to negative reinforcement from parents while growing up has shaped the mindset of many young Nigerians, causing them to unconsciously project the same negativity into adulthood.
He wrote:
“Our Nigerian parents really do many of us strong thing. The point I’m making is this: when you come under my post saying you’ll never make it, that’s not really you speaking, it’s the voice of what you grew up hearing at home. When you say ‘you can’t do this, you can’t do that,’ you’re only repeating what your father and mother told you growing up. Now you see you’ve carried that same energy into adulthood, and that’s why many are stuck in failure. It’s time to break that cycle. It’s time to change that mindset.”
Terry G, known for his unconventional style and outspoken personality, urged people to break free from negative conditioning and cultivate a positive outlook that supports growth and success.
