“I do not have anything against anyone…the question is how I did not feel the betrayal anymore? I knew the Grace factor was evident, and the Holy Spirit continually comforted me,” she wrote.Memoir highlights Tinubu’s election controversiesStructured in five chapters spanning 2021 to 2025, the memoir offers a personal account of Mrs Tinubu’s spiritual journey, her husband’s presidential campaign, and the lessons she drew from the political turbulence surrounding the 2023 polls.
The foreword was penned by Dr Folashade Olukoya of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries.
Her reflections come nearly three years after one of Nigeria’s most divisive elections. President Bola Tinubu, representing the All Progressives Congress, secured victory in the February 2023 polls with 8.79 million votes, defeating Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and Peter Obi of the Labour Party.
The results were challenged at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal and later at the Supreme Court, both of which upheld Tinubu’s win.
Tinubu’s allies absent during presidential bidMrs Tinubu recounted that some of her husband’s long-time associates were conspicuously absent when he decided to pursue the presidency.
She described the period as one marked by extensive consultations, noting that reactions from allies were mixed.
Her memoir, now available online, offers a rare glimpse into the personal and spiritual convictions of Nigeria’s First Lady during a pivotal chapter in the nation’s political history.
Faith and forgiveness central to Tinubu’s reflectionsDrawing inspiration from biblical teachings, the First Lady emphasised the importance of forgiveness and spiritual resilience. “Never to avenge myself, assuring me that it is God’s prerogative. Mine is to thank Him for fighting for us,” she wrote.
She likened her approach to that of Jesus Christ, citing Acts 10:38:
“Letting go is what I did; doing good is what matters most.
