Following the release of the Xiaomi 17 series in China, the company’s next device with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 will be the Redmi K90 Pro. That phone will go on to be badged as the Poco F8 Ultra globally, and its camera hardware details have now been exposed in a new leak.
As shared by XiaomiTime citing Mi code, the Redmi K90 Pro—and Poco F8 Ultra by extension—looks geared to adopt mostly the same camera hardware as the vanilla Xiaomi 17. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 phone is listed with an OVX9500 main camera. It’s unclear what that sensor is branded as, but it’s said to be a 50 MP snapper, and is joined by the ever-present 50 MP JN5 beneath a periscope lens, and the OV50M as both the selfie and ultra-wide angle shooters. The Poco F series has typically offered phones with excellent performance at the expense of its cameras but that looks set to change with the F8 Ultra.
The Redmi K90 Pro has recently been certified with the model number “25102RKBEC”, and the Poco F8 Ultra is expected to be coded as “25102RKBEG”. Going by prior leaks, the phone will offer moderate upgrades across the board, including improved haptics, speakers, and the aforementioned telephoto camera that was absent on prior generations in the series. An October release is rumored.
