In a viral video circulating on social media, Teju addressed both men and women but emphasized his advice more on men. He warned that men should never confess to their wives if they cheat, stressing that silence is far better than telling the truth in such situations.
He explained that whether cheating happens by chance, mistake, or deliberate action, it should be kept private. According to him, revealing such information can cause severe damage to marriages and families.
Teju said: “If you cheat on your wife or your husband, but especially your wife, especially men, if you cheat on your wife, don’t tell her, don’t confess. If you cheat on your spouse, don’t tell them. Do not ever do it. It is one of the most catastrophic and damning things you can ever do in your life.”
While acknowledging that some people might argue differently or quote the Bible in defense of confession, Teju disagreed. He asked, “What exactly are you trying to achieve with the confession?”
According to him, people who confess often deceive themselves into thinking they are being open and sincere, when in reality, they are only being manipulative. He stressed that the urge to confess usually comes from guilt rather than genuine honesty.
Teju also pointed out that spouses gain nothing when their partners confess to cheating. Instead, he argued, such admissions only destroy trust, inflict unnecessary pain, and may even break the relationship.
