51 per cent of Gen Z are looking for a theatre experience at home
A new survey commissioned by Samsung reveals that Canadians are choosing to stay in versus going out.
According to the survey, 85 per cent of Canadians prefer movie nights at home, and 55 per cent would rather invest in their entertainment setups than spend on external experiences. The survey also reveals that 47 per cent also consider their entertainment space to be the most important room in the house.
Additionally, it seems like 51 per cent of Gen Z are looking for a theatre experience at home. Further, more than a third see the TV as the center of their connected life.
However, 65 per cent are overwhelmed by too many streaming platforms, and 59 per cent are drawn to TVs that allow for personalized content recommendations.
The survey was conducted by Edelman Canada between July 28 and August 6, 2025. Edelman surveyed a representative sample of 1,500 Canadians who are part of the Leger opinion panel with a 10-minute online survey.
