The busy EFL Championship schedule continues midweek with two American players seeking to lead their clubs to a crucial three points.
Josh Sargent and Norwich City face off with Ethan Horvath and Sheffield Wednesday in a six-pointer at the bottom of the league table. Sargent has struggled to get back to form for a struggling Norwich City side, failing to score since August 30.
The U.S. men’s national team forward has been held in check by opposing backlines while the Canaries overall have not won a match in their last nine matches. If Liam Manning wants to save his job for another week, Sargent has to get off the mark at Hillsborough.
Horvath recently came back into the starting lineup for Sheffield Wednesday after missing one match through suspension. The veteran goalkeeper made six saves in Saturday’s 0-0 draw with West Bromwich Albion, a result that snapped the Owls four-match losing streak.
Horvath could be busy once again this week as Norwich City tries to turn things around against a Sheffield Wednesday side that is in the bottom-three with them.
In Europe, Weston McKennie and Juventus face off with Sporting Lisbon. Auston Trusty and Celtic visit Midtjylland in Europa League play. Tanner Tessmann and Lyon visit Real Betis.
