Nigerian singer Oludipe David, widely known as Spyro, has said he would remain financially comfortable even if he stopped making music today.
The Who Is Your Guy crooner made the statement during an interview on the 14th Adesope Live show, where he explained that a major part of his income comes from corporate performances rather than regular industry events.
Spyro noted that he is frequently booked by banks, high-profile organizations, and elite clients because his music is clean, family-friendly, and suitable for all audiences. According to him, this has helped him carve out a unique niche in the industry.
“If I stop making music today, I’m made. A lot of people don’t know that because I don’t brag,” he said, adding that many people wrongly assume he isn’t financially buoyant because he maintains a modest lifestyle.
He went on to reveal that beyond his music earnings, he has made several smart investments that have secured his long-term financial stability.
“I really don’t do industry shows. I do corporate shows. I get booked by banks and elites like Tony Elumelu every end of the year,” he said. “When they’re looking for clean music, especially when children will be at the event, only a few artists like myself, Chike, and Johnny Drille can be called upon.”
