Enzo Maresca will be pleased with his side’s performances of late, particularly when considering that they have been without talisman Cole Palmer, who has missed Chelsea’s last 11 games.

The England international could return to action when the Blues host Barcelona in the Champions League later this month, but in the meantime it has emerged that the game will also give the London side an opportunity to see one of their transfer targets in action.

The English forward is currently on loan at Barcelona from boyhood club Manchester United, and he has been in fine form since swapping Manchester for Catalunya over the summer.

Since joining Barcelona, Rashford has scored six goals and provided nine assists in 16 games for the La Liga side across all competitions.

Barcelona are said to be keen to sign the England international permanently at the end of the current campaign, however Chelsea are also admirers of the player and are said to be willing to offer the player a more lucrative package than their Spanish counterparts.

Rashford is a product of Man United’s youth system and had made more than 400 appearances for the club before falling out of favour following the arrival of Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford.

He fell out of favour following the change of manager, and was sent on loan to Aston Villa for the second half of last season before joining Barcelona over the summer.
