In August last year, The Mag kindly published my first ever article on here – ‘In my blood – How it all started.’
So, with it having been just over a year that has gone by, I thought I would have another try.
Firstly, can I go back to 16th March.
We at last landed some more silverware. For me at 77 years of age, it has been a long time coming.
I worked with a couple of young lads, well, in their late forties, they sent me a photo just after the final whistle and they were crying, obviously with joy.
I am not ashamed to say that I did too when looking at it.
Transfer window
All the talk has been about Alexander Isak.
Well, I think we have added some quality players to our squad, maybe a couple more before it closes. We have doubled up on most positions so it has been a canny transfer window.
Eddie Howe
In my humble opinion, this man is the best coach our great club has ever had.
He landed our first bit of silverware for decades.
I was watching the Transfer show on Thursday and a lad called Daniels (who had played under Eddie Howe at Bournemouth) was on talking about the Newcastle United boss.
He said Eddie creates a family club. That his attention to detail is unmatched. His man-management is first class and has a superb tactical brain (ref. Wembley 16th March).
Long may England keep Tuchel.
Transfer saga
I won’t go into detail cos we all have our view on it.
I used to work with a scots lad who was a Celtic supporter, he said if any player does not want to wear the shirt…on your way, his actual words were a bit stronger!!!
A parting shot for Isak
You can go for £150 million.
One payment and please submit a transfer request.
That is enough of him.
We have in my opinion a great season to look forward to and a European competition to look forward to.
My only regret is that I won’t be in the Gallowgate this time when Barcelona arrive.
So to every one of you, I wish you a great season…and an FA cup would be nice.
Cheers
