Yakubu Wudil has criticized President Tinubu’s decision to rename the University of Maiduguri after the late Muhammadu Buhari.
While acknowledging the gesture was made in good faith, Wudil said a newer institution like the Federal University of Transportation in Daura would have been more appropriate.
He stressed that long-established universities like UNIMAID carry historic identities that should remain untouched.
