The leak says the phone is plastic, so hopefully it keeps the price down

Google’s upcoming Pixel 9a has appeared in a video that shows off its design.

The quick clip shows the phone’s back and sides, sparking concerns that the handset is cheaply made. YouTuber Alexis Garza originally shared the video, but since took it down. Fellow YouTuber Shane Craig then reshared it.

Garza’s original post said the device had a “plastic feeling, reminds me of the Nokia Lumia devices.” Despite the ‘plastic feeling,’ Garza said the handset still felt good. Personally, I think a phone that feels good is more important than if the device is plastic. And if the device is plastic, this should help keep costs down. Apple recently released the iPhone 16e, its most affordable handset, with an $899 price tag in Canada. Hopefully, the Pixel 9a will likely sport a lower price.

The camera module has significantly changed, and while it might look “cheap,” it’s nearly fleshed to the back of the phone, making it even better when your device is on a surface.

Rumours suggest the Pixel 9a has a Tensor G4 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 120Hz OLED screen. Leaks suggest we’ll see the handset in late March.
