Frances Tiafoe’s girlfriend, Ayan Broomfield, found the former World No. 10 in an unusual spot in America, even though he is currently in Melbourne for the 2026 Australian Open. While on a grocery run, Broomfield discovered Tiafoe’s picture on the packaging of an energy bar.
Tiafoe and Broomfield have been together for nearly 11 years, having started to date in 2015. Broomfield is a social media fashion influencer and a former professional tennis player. She played for Clemson University and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and made her WTA Tour debut by playing doubles at the 2014 Coupe Banque Nationale.

Tiafoe is seeded 29th at the 2026 Australian Open, and he began his campaign by defeating qualifier Jason Kubler with a score of 7-6(4), 6-3, 6-2 in the first round. He then overcame Francisco Comesaña with a score of 6-4, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 in the second round.
Recently, Broomfield shared a video on social media of herself browsing the grocery store aisles. She mentioned that she was there to grab a snack because she planned to stay up all night watching Tiafoe compete at the Australian Open. While perusing the shelves, she found pictures of Tiafoe on the packaging of a Clif Bar, a popular energy bar.
“Went to the store to grab a snack since I’d be up all night to watching foe in Australia and looook what I found. I’ll take 10!!! @clifbar,” Broomfield captioned her Instagram story.
Broomfield also posted a picture of herself watching Tiafoe’s second-round match at the Melbourne Major on television.
“Okay flow state reached,” she added.

Before the Australian Open, Tiafoe competed at the 2026 Brisbane International. He defeated wild card Aleksandar Vukic in the first round but lost to the eventual champion, top seed Daniil Medvedev, in the second round.

At the Australian Open, De Minaur, seeded sixth, began his campaign by defeating lucky loser Mackenzie McDonald with a scoreline of 6-2, 6-2, 6-3 in the first round. He then advanced to the third round against Tiafoe by overcoming Hamad Medjedovic with a scoreline of 6-7(5), 6-2, 6-2, 6-1 in the second round.
Tiafoe and De Minaur have faced each other four times on the ATP Tour, with the World No. 6 winning three of those match-ups. Their most recent encounter was in the fourth round of the 2025 Canadian Open, where De Minaur secured a 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 victory.
The winner of the third-round match between Tiafoe and De Minaur at the 2026 Australian Open will advance to face either 10th seed Alexander Bublik or Tomás Martín Etcheverry in the fourth round of the tournament.
