The supporters of Chelsea Football Club are having their worst nightmare with injuries to Levi Colwill and Tosin Adarabioyo ahead of the opening Premier League game against Crystal Palace.

The Blues will play their first competitive game after winning the FIFA Club World Cup against Paris Saint-Germain ( PSG). Chelsea had initially confirmed that Levi Colwill had surgery after picking up an injury in training which will rule him out for the early part of the season.

Tosin Adarabioyo is the second player ruled out of the game against Crystal Palace. According to reports from Stamford Bridge, the young defender also picked up a slight knock in training.

He pulled out of Chelsea’s game against Crystal Palace as a precaution following a minor issue in training. The club is being especially cautious due to the long-term absence of Levi Colwill.

The head coach of Chelsea, Enzo Maresca, had initially spoken about the options he has available to him in the defensive department.

He said

“Then there are players who can do both. Levi, when Tosin [Adarabioyo] was playing in the middle, was on the left. But most of the time Levi was in the middle and then we have Trev [Chalobah] or Cucu [Marc Cucurella], or Reece [James] or Cucu. They have different solutions. But the one in the middle in my way [of playing] is so, so, so important”

Chelsea fans will hope this is just a precaution and will expect to see him in the second league game against West Ham United at the London Stadium.
