(Image source: Aqara)Aqara is rolling out an update for the Panel Hub S1 Plus, a smart home device which launched earlier in 2025. This release brings Apple features to the product, including the Siri voice assistant and support for AirPlay. Plus, the software also includes new intercom and chime-related tools.
The Aqara Panel Hub S1 Plus is receiving a firmware update. This product, also known as the MagicPad S1 Plus in some regions, was released in Europe at the start of 2025.
Reddit user Hyder202r reported the update, version 4.5.1, for the Aqara Panel Hub S1 Plus. This has since been confirmed by more users in Europe. The release brings a couple of Apple features to the smart home device. Firstly, you can now use Siri voice commands through the smart hub, saying “Hey Siri” to wake the assistant. Requests are processed via a connected HomePod, making the response a little slow.
Aqara’s Panel Hub S1 Plus also gets support for AirPlay with software version 4.5.1. This feature, currently in beta testing, allows users to stream music or podcasts through the device. An intercom feature lets you send and receive voice messages to other Apple devices. Plus, the hub can now act as a doorbell chime for third-party devices, as well as Aqara’s own smart doorbells.
The Siri, AirPlay Speaker, Intercom, and Doorbell Chime features can be individually switched on or off in the Aqara Home app. It appears that the software version 4.5.1 update is rolling out in phases to users of the Aqara Panel Hub S1 Plus (curr €219.96 at Amazon DE). When it will be available to customers in all regions remains to be seen.
