Arne Slot has released his team list for Liverpool Football Club that will play at the group phase of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League.
The major omission was Italy’s forward Federico Chiesa who scored the third goal in the opening league game of the season against Bournemouth. 17-year-old Rio Ngumoha was included in Liverpool’s 22-player List A which was submitted to UEFA on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
UEFA rules confirm that teams can name a squad of up to 25 players for their competitions. Eight of those 25 need to be ‘locally-trained’ and they are split into two different categories.
Club-trained players must have been registered with the club for at least three seasons between the ages of 15 and 21, while association-trained players must have been registered with a club in the same association (country) for at least three seasons between the ages of 15 and 21. However, the clubs are only allowed a maximum of four association-trained players as part of their eight-strong quota.
The List A squad also includes new signings Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Giovanni Leoni, Giorgi Mamardashvili and Freddie Woodman
