Mikel Arteta will be desperate to see his side progress to the last four of the competition, however Real will undoubtedly provide a stern test for the North London outfit.

In the meantime, it has emerged that one of Arsenal’s transfer targets could stay put this summer.

His impressive displays have attracted interest from elsewhere, with Arsenal one of a number of clubs showing interest in the player.

Ekitike joined Frankfurt from French giants Paris Saint-Germain last year and is under contract with his current side until the summer of 2029.

In total he has played 58 times for Frankfurt, scoring 25 times and providing 11 assists across all competitions.

It is claimed that, despite Arsenal’s interest in the player, Ekitike could still stay put at his current side beyond this summer’s transfer window.

The report claims that Arsenal had scouts in attendance at Eintracht’s Europa League game against Tottenham Hotspur last week, with a particular interest in Ekitike.

This summer the Gunners will have Andrea Berta guiding their transfer policy, following his appointment as their new sporting director.

This season Arsenal have struggled with injuries in attack, with both Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus having missed huge parts of the season.

Bukayo Saka has also missed several weeks due to injury, although he did recently return to action.
