Bell and Corus Entertainment have reached a new multi-year agreement to bring the Flavour and Home networks to Bell’s television services.
According to a press release from Bell Canada, the two Canadian media giants reached an agreement to allow the two recently rebranded channels to air on Bell Satellite TV and Bell Fibe TV.
The channels were initially branded as HGTV Canada and Food Network until Corus rebranded them as the Home Network and the Flavour Network late last year.
Both networks will retain previously shown shows like Top Chef Canada and Renovation Resort, alongside some new programming.
The channels will retain reruns to some reruns of HGTV and Food Network shows until Corus’ licencing agreements for those programs expire.
New American shows, including Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars, will also premiere on the Canadian side.
The two channels aren’t the only part of the agreement; Corus’ StackTV has also been added to Bell’s Fibe TV app.
Earlier this year, Bell also rebranded several Discovery channels to CTV branding and added two American-based channels (Oxygen True Crime and the USA Network) to its lineup.
The new networks will be available for free preview from January 3rd to February 28th.
Update Jan. 09, 2025 at 8:22pm ET: Removed a line that said Flavour and Home would retain U.S. programming and added a correction that only some reruns will remain until Corus’ licencing agreements expire. As of January 1st, Rogers has the rights to all new seasons of returning shows, new titles and library content of all U.S. programming on HGTV and Food Network.
