Stiller & Meara: Nothing Is Lost, Ben Stiller’s documentary about his parents, is now available on Apple TV. Here’s what to expect.
‘A project that is very personal to me and my family’
It is still surprising to some people that Jerry Stiller, better known as Frank Costanza in Seinfeld, was Ben Stiller’s dad in real life.
But what most people don’t know is that his career went much further than that, having spent about a decade and a half performing beside his wife, Anne Meara, Ben Stiller’s mother.
In Stiller & Meara: Nothing Is Lost, Ben Stiller and his sister uncover lost diaries, recordings, interviews, and stories as they revisit the on- and offstage lives of the comedy duo they knew simply as their parents.
The documentary marks another collaboration between Stiller and Apple, following the resounding success of Severance, which he co-produces and has directed several episodes of.

Ben Stiller tells the story of his parents, comedy icons Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara, exploring their impact both on popular culture and at home, where the lines between creativity, family, life and art often blurred. In the process, Stiller turns the camera on himself and his family to examine Jerry and Anne’s enormous influence on their lives, and the generational lessons we all can learn from those we love.
Here’s what Ben Stiller said recently about the movie:
