The parents of the minor told SaharaReporters that a former senator and governorship candidate in Adamawa, Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed “Binani,” visited their home to plead with them not to reveal the scandal.
Former Senator Elisha Abbo has turned himself in at the Nigeria Police Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja after being accused of raping a 13-year-old secondary school student.
The parents of the minor told SaharaReporters that a former senator and governorship candidate in Adamawa, Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed “Binani,” visited their home to plead with them not to reveal the scandal.
They further alleged that following the incident, Abbo kept sending money to the girl’s father in a bid to silence the matter.
As of the time of publishing this report, Senator Abbo was still being held at the FCID.
The controversial senator is no stranger to scandal. He was once arrested for assaulting a vendor at a sex shop in Abuja, and more recently, a married woman accused him of blackmail with a sex tape.
The alleged rape reportedly occurred on June 29, 2025, at Senator Abbo’s residence in Katampe, Abuja.
