Daniel was suspended along with Hon. Kunle Folarin for the same reason. This was announced in a statement by Nuberu Olufemi, the director of publicity of the APC and made available to journalists in Abeokuta, the state capital, on Tuesday, August 20.

“In exercise of its powers, the State Working Committee of the APC in Ogun State affirms the suspension of Senator Gbenga Daniel and Hon. Daniel accuses Abiodun of witch-hunting himThis came days after Daniel accused Governor Dapo Abiodun of allegedly ordering the demolition of his residence and hotels in the Sagamu area of the state. The Ogun state government has ordered the demolition of his private residence, the Asoludero Court, Conference Hotels Limited, and the hotel annexe in Sagamu.
Senator Daniel stated that the governor’s order was conveyed through notices of contravention, quit, and threat of demolition, which were to be posted on the properties within the next three days, and were pasted on the properties on Friday, August 8, at approximately 4 pm.
Daniel’s media aide, Steve Oliyide, disclosed this in a statement signed on Saturday, August 9, 2025. He said the move to demolish his properties is clear political persecution. He added that the allegations levelled against him are deeply rooted in a thuggish and political vindictiveness at its highest level.
