SaharaReporters days ago reported that global human rights body, the Amnesty International condemned the deadly attack by gunmen on Gidan Waya in Yarkasuwa, Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State, which left four people dead and 12 others abducted, including children.

In a statement released by the international organisation,Ā it disclosed that the attack occurred on the night of 11 November 2025, and highlights the continued failure of Nigerian authorities to protect citizens and hold perpetrators of human rights abuses accountable.

Amnesty International noted that since 2016, rural communities in parts of northern Nigeria have lived under constant threat from armed groups, forcing many farmers and their families to abandon their homes.
