The Dallas Cowboys lost their preseason opener last Saturday against the Los Angeles Rams, and while the winner and loser of the game is irrelevant, everything that happened throughout the contest matters greatly.
Players like Phil Mafah, Traeshon Holden and Jalen Brooks made bigger names for themselves while others such as Joe Milton and Deuce Vaughn have some work to do. It is the time of year for that introspection so everything is par for the course in that sense.
In the aftermath of the game a debate of sorts has sprung up across the internet among Cowboys fans. Should the starters have played? Why or why not? If so, how much?
Obviously we are all in agreement that this is the preseason so nobody is advocating for the starters to have been out there for the entire game. But looking across the league there are plenty of starters who suited up and hit the field for the team (as well as some who did not) and given how rusty the team seemed to look, there is at the very least an argument behind the idea.
So have at it. Let us know what you think in the comments down below.
