The joys of Canadian cartoons live online now
Kids can now watch the CBC’s slate of cartoons on the CBC Gem app or the CBC Kids YouTube channel.
Both of these options are running the shows all day and all night without advertising, so parents can just turn on a child-safe viewing experience. That said, I would probably say Gem has fewer terrible places for a child to end up accidentally. YouTube, on the other hand, can lead to much less controlled content.
The broadcasting corporation’s press release says that the shows are rated for ages two to 10, so they should cover a wide range of programming. This includes Dino Ranch, Go Togo, Hey Duggee, and Molly of Denali. There is also a French-language equivalent streaming on ICI TOU.TV.
