The concept is based on some previous leaks about Apple’s rumoured super-thin iPhone

In January, Samsung revealed the ultra-thin Galaxy S25 Edge, which is competing with the rumoured iPhone 17 Air. We’ve heard rumours and seen leaks about this super-slim iPhone, but now production company Weis Studio has posted a very cool and realistic concept for the upcoming handset.
The concept design is based on leaks showing the device would sport a 5.5mm profile. To compare, the iPhone 16 Pro offers an 8.25mm thick design. The thinness doesn’t account for the camera bar, which, in the concept, looks a lot like the camera on the Pixel 9 series.
I can’t imagine Apple launching a handset with a camera bar so similar to the iconic Pixel bar. Leakers have been unsure about the horizontal camera bar; some are for it, but others say it won’t happen.
While the camera bar is similar to Google’s Pixel line, Weis Studio’s design shows it is more refined than what Google offers, matching the lilac colour of the device. It’s nice, and Google should honestly steal this look before it comes to fruition and “Apple had it first” rhetoric starts spreading.
Rumours also suggest the iPhone 17 Air could sport a 6.6-inch display and a single camera on the horizontal bar featuring a 48-megapixel shooter. Further leaks indicate that the handset could come with a 120Hz ProMotion display as well as an in-house 5G modem replacing the Qualcomm modem used in past iPhone devices, alongside the A19 chip and Wi-Fi 7.
Battery life has yet to be speculated, but a thinner body likely means less power. Rumours suggest the S25 Edge will pack a 3,900mAh battery, smaller than what’s available on even the base S25.
According to leaks, the iPhone 17 Air will reportedly launch alongside the rest of the iPhone 17 lineup in September. This device would replace the iPhone 17 Plus.
