Chelsea face Bayer Leverkusen in their first pre-season friendly of the summer on August 8.
The Blues lifted the FIFA Club World Cup earlier this summer, defeating French side Paris Saint-Germain in the final in New Jersey.
Enzo Maresca has now guided his side to victory in both the Europa Conference League and the Club World Cup, and he will fancy their chances of being competitive in the Premier League next term.
There have already been plenty of incoming and outgoings at Stamford Bridge this summer, but it now appears that the West London side are hoping to sign a Dutch defender.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have made contact with Eredivisie side Ajax about a move for full-back Jorrel Hato.
The journalist claims that the Blues have reached out to their Dutch counterparts to assess the viability of a deal, with the two clubs having a strong relationship.

Hato himself is said to be keen on the idea of a move to Stamford Bridge and would give the green light to the proposed move, with personal terms unlikely to cause an issue.
The 19-year-old has progressed through the ranks at Ajax and has now played more than 110 times for the Amsterdam side at senior level.
The left-back featured 50 times for the Dutch side across all competitions last term and is contracted to the club until 2028, but Romano claims that negotiations are ongoing between Chelsea and Ajax.
Hato’s versatility would likely appeal to those in charge of the Blues’ recruitment, with the teenager capable of playing as a central defender as well as in his natural role as a left-back.
