Davido, Burna Boy, and Shallipopi have been nominated for the 2025 AFRIMA, with Burna Boy and Davido leading with five nods each, while Shallipopi earned four.
Other top contenders include Ayra Starr, DJ Maphorisa, El Grande Toto, and Moliy. The awards will be held in Lagos from November 25–30 and broadcast live to over 80 countries.
Nigerian superstars Davido, Burna Boy, and Shallipopi have bagged multiple nominations at the 2025 All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), set to hold in Lagos from November 25 to 30.
Burna Boy and Davido lead with five nominations each, including Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Collaboration. Shallipopi follows closely with four nods, including Artiste of the Year for his hit “Laho.”
Other strong contenders include Ayra Starr (two nominations), DJ Maphorisa, El Grande Toto, Mia Guissé, and Moliy with five each, while Diamond Platnumz, Tyla, and Uncle Waffles secured four nominations apiece.
AFRIMA jury member Delani Makhalima hailed the recognition of African talent, saying: “For years our voices were not heard, but today African music is global. This is AFRIMA, the biggest music entity on the continent.”
The week-long event will feature music showcases, a business summit, and the grand finale on November 30, broadcast live across 84 countries.
