Eagles playoffs 2026: Birds eliminated with Wild Card loss to 49ers

The Philadelphia Eagles are no longer in the hunt to repeat as Super Bowl Champions after losing to the San Francisco 49ers in the Wild Card round, 23-19.

As has been the case for most of the season, the Eagles offense had an uneven performance and did next to nothing in the second half, and the defense needed some help against a very capable 49ers offense. The team found ways to win throughout the season, but weren’t able to make it work on Sunday.

Now, the 49ers will travel to Seattle for the NFC Divisional Round against the No. 1 seeded Seahawks, and the No. 2 Chicago Bears will host the No. 5 Los Angeles Rams.

The AFC will play the final two games of Wild Card Weekend, with the No. 7 Los Angeles Chargers and No. 2 New England Patriots facing off on Sunday night, and the No. 5 Houston Texans and No. 4 Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night. The No. 6 Buffalo Bills were able to beat the No. 3 Jacksonville Jaguars early on Sunday, and will either face the No. 1 seeded Denver Broncos (if the Chargers lose) or the Patriots in the Divisional Round next weekend.
