The company is promising improvements related to self-serve tools, faster checkout, product discovery and more
EB Games Canada has teased what it’s calling “the next chapter” of its business.
In a new support page titled “What’s Next for EB Games Canada,” the retailer outlined several of its plans to improve the customer experience. Specifically, EB Games Canada says it’s working on a “full overhaul” of its technology systems, which it admits “have been due for an upgrade for some time.”
Per the retailer, this will include such changes as:
A brand-new website
Better self-serve tools
Faster checkout
Improved product discovery
Dynamic shipping charges
EB Games Canada admits that this project is still in the works, and a timeline and further details will be shared as soon as possible. That said, the retailer adds that it wants to commit to a “new approach to communication” as it moves ahead with these and other changes.
To do that, the company is promising:
A dedicated EB Games News page to track announcements and upcoming changes
More behind-the-scenes insights into current projects and how decisions are made
Open invitations to share feedback, vote on initiatives, and help shape the future of the business
A new culture of listening to improve together
“There are big changes coming, including some updates that we know will spark conversation. When those roll out, we’ll be transparent, upfront, and ready to listen,” wrote EB Games Canada. The company also invited people to stay tuned to its support pages for the latest news and updates and to email [email protected] for inquiries.
It’s a big time for the retailer. In May, the company formerly known as GameStop Canada was acquired by the French-Canadian entrepreneur Stephan Tetrault, the co-owner of McFarlane Toys, and rebranded as EB Games Canada. In an interview with MobileSyrup, EB Games Canada president Jim Tyo discussed a desire “to step back and get to our roots again.”
