Edo State Government has dismissed former Anambra Governor and Labour Party’s Peter Obi as “the least of our worries,” calling his political influence overrated.
This response follows Governor Monday Okpebholo’s warning for Obi to avoid Edo without security clearance.
State Commissioner for Information, Paul Ohonbamu, reiterated on Channels TV that Obi’s political power is exaggerated and not a real threat.
“Peter Obi is the least of our worries. APC can’t be threatened because of Peter Obi. Ask him what he will even do when he becomes president, and he’ll simply say, ‘Let me get there first.’ There is no clear-cut blueprint of what he wants to do,” Ohonbamu said.
He argued that Obi lacks a clear vision for Nigeria and questioned his influence, noting that the Labour Party governs only one South East state—Abia.
“Enugu is governed by the PDP, Anambra by APGA, and APC controls Imo and Ebonyi. So where is his dominance? Peter Obi is just struggling in error. I can assure you, his defeat is a fixed deposit,” the commissioner added.
