The head coach of Chelsea Football Club Enzo Maresca has showered praises on the amazing performance of Willian Esteavo since he joined the club.
Maresca was speaking during his post-match press conference after the UEFA Champions League game against Ajax at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. According to Maresca, he is excited that he has such an amazing player that any manager will be happy to have.
He said,
I am lucky to have Estevão! Sometimes we managers are worried with young players… they play just one good game and they think they are top. Estevão is different. He’s playing well, but he’s polite and humble, and wants to learn every day. He wants to learn, he needs time… but in my view, he’s similar to Cole Palmer. Cole started wide at Man City then built some physicality. In future, Estevão can do the same and become a number 10”.
Esteavo also spoke about his first of many UEFA Champions League goals.
He said,
I’m very happy for this first goal in the UEFA Champions League. I am very happy, there’s no way to describe it much, I’ve always dreamed of this moment and it arrived..”
Estevão has been amazing since he joined Chelsea and his name is still being sung by most Chelsea supporters all over the world. This is due to his performance on the pitch and his winning goal against Liverpool in the Premier League.
