Everton Football Club have confirmed the reappointment of David Moyes as the new head coach of the club following the decision of the new owners to sack Sean Dyche.

The news of David Moyes appointment was announced on the official website of Everton on Saturday, January 11, 2025. The 61-year-old signed a two-and-a-half-year contract at Goodison Park following the sacking of Sean Dyche.

Moyes spent 11 years at Everton before leaving to take charge of United as Sir Alex Ferguson’s successor in the summer of 2013. He joined Everton in March 2002, having to help the team survive relegation and went on to take charge of more than 500 games.

In that time he led them to two top-seven finishes and won the Europa Conference League, their first major trophy in 43 years. Everton fans will hope he can recreate the success he had at West Ham United with them at the end of the 2024/25 season.
