A former champion believes that Anthony Joshua has a big decision to make ahead of December 19.
Even without taking their skill levels into account, the first face off between Joshua and Jake Paul showed how much of a mismatch their upcoming bout is.
The two men are set to meet at the Kaseya Center in Miami for another blockbuster bout live on Netflix.
While it goes without saying that ‘AJ’ has accomplished more in boxing than his next opponent, Joshua has experienced a shocking upset loss in the past.
A pro with 38 fights under his belt believes that how competitive the bout will be will depend on how the former heavyweight champion chooses to approach it.
LATEST NEWS: Jake Paul quotes Muhammad Ali while revealing how he plans to beat ‘chinny’ Anthony Joshua What chance do you give Jake Paul of beating Anthony Joshua? Lucas Browne talks Anthony Joshua implementing an ‘amateur’ style against Jake PaulJake Paul is sure to earn respect for taking on Anthony Joshua in what many expect will be a one-sided and short affair.
Whether or not he’s able to be competitive in any way with ‘AJ’ is a totally different question, which Lucas Browne believes could be decided by Joshua’s mentality.
Browne has recently crossed over into bare knuckle boxing where he’ll challenge for the BKB heavyweight title on November 22, but also faced the likes of Dillian Whyte and James Toney in boxing.
The former WBA champion recently shared his thoughts on Paul vs Joshua when previewing his title fight in an exclusive interview with Bloody Elbow.
During the interview, Browne spoke about the importance of bare knuckle fighters implementing an amateur boxing style, using footwork to get in and out of range without trading in the pocket.
‘Big Daddy’ believes that if Joshua chooses to disregard this, he’ll be giving Paul a chance that he wouldn’t have if the Brit sticks to technique.
“When it comes to fighting, everyone has a chance. A chance of a shot, yeah, 100 percent. But, if Anthony Joshua is smart and goes back to a little bit more of the amateur style like I said, Jake Paul won’t touch him. If he goes to amateur in his head, he’ll be fine. If he wants to stand in the pocket and brawl, very different story.”

Photo by Jesus Olarte/Anadolu via Getty ImagesAnthony Joshua fought smart to knockout Francis NgannouAs previously mentioned, Anthony Joshua has been on the wrong end of some big knockout losses in the past.
He was stunningly beaten by Andy Ruiz in 2019 after dropping his opponent before it became a brawl that left him on the canvas multiple times.
Some questioned whether Francis Ngannou, with the devastating power that he possesses, could exploit similar weaknesses in ‘AJ’, only to receive his own ruthless knockout in the second round.
If that same version of Joshua shows up on December 19 and is able to minimize risks while demonstrating a clear technical advantage, it could be a very, very short night for Jake Paul.
