The 2025 Formula 1 season heads to the Circuit of The Americas in Austin for the United States Grand Prix on Sunday.
The 19th race of the calendar promises a thriller with the sprint format in play. While McLaren secured the Constructors’ Championships at the Singapore GP, the Drivers’ Championship remains wide open after a surprising turn of events in recent races.
Max Verstappen arrives in Austin with momentum, after finishing in the top two in his last four races, including wins at Monza and Baku. He currently sits third with 273 points, trailing Oscar Piastri’s 336 and Lando Norris’ 314 points.
Verstappen’s recent form makes him a formidable threat to the McLaren duo, with six races, including three sprints, left to decide the championship. Piastri, meanwhile, has historically struggled at COTA, with one DNF and a fifth-place finish in his last two visits.
