Man City have received a huge player boost ahead of their upcoming fixtures, with the FA Cup final also on the horizon.

Man City striker Erling Haaland is the latest player boost the club has received as it was confirmed that the Norwegian resumed full training after recovering from an ankle injury. The 24-year-old Norwegian sustained the injury during the 2-1 FA Cup quarter-final victory against Bournemouth on March 30.

Since then, Haaland has been focusing on an individual training program as part of his rehabilitation process. He has now rejoined the first-team squad, though his exact return to competitive play remains uncertain. Manager Pep Guardiola is expected to provide an update during his press conference on Thursday ahead of their Premier League clash with Wolves on Friday, set for an 8:00 PM kick-off (WAT).

Rodri Injury updateRodriIn another boost for City, 28-year-old midfielder Rodri has also returned to training with the first team after a lengthy absence. The Spain international, who won the 2024 Ballon d’Or, has been sidelined since suffering a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) last year.

Rodri had been seen training individually at City’s Etihad Campus earlier this year, and it is believed his comeback could align with the Club World Cup in June, rather than the remaining fixtures of the Premier League or the FA Cup final.

Last week, Guardiola commented on Rodri’s progress, stating, ā€œRodri performs well in every training session with us, and he is eager to play. However, the medical team needs to give the green light for him to receive minutes. I trust their judgment in this matter.ā€

Currently positioned fourth in the Premier League standings, Manchester City has relinquished the title to new champions Liverpool after four consecutive triumphs. The team will host Wolves on Friday night and face Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final at Wembley on May 17, 2025.
