The multi-award-winning artist, born Folarin Falana, shared his thoughts during a recent chat with Pulse Nigeria as part of promotions for his new project, “The Feast.”

In the widely shared interview, Falz didn’t hold back when asked whether he’d ever consider stepping into politics to drive change from within. His answer was straightforward:

“Politics, ke? No, it’s a big no. What’s my business with politics. I can never become a politician. I don’t think I’d ever be able to be one because being one requires some traits that I don’t possess—a lot of negative traits. Even some ‘normal’ traits, like being patient and always being ‘on,’ I can’t do it.”

His response resonated across social media, especially among Nigerian youths who have long seen him as a leading voice for justice and accountability.

Though some believe his fearless activism naturally leads to political ambition, Falz clarified that his outspoken nature comes from personal conviction—not from any desire to run for office.

He stated:

“Compassion I just care. I cannot afford to witness everything I witness and not say anything or do anything about it. It’s just the way that I’m built. Nobody is putting fire on my backside. I do it because I want to, not because I’m planning anything.”
