Isaac Fayose, a social commentator, praises Atiku Abubakar’s resignation from the PDP and advises Peter Obi to return to the party for a contest.
Former vice president Atiku Abubakar has announced his resignation from the People’s Democratic Party.
Isaac Fayose expressed excitement about the news and announced that the party would proceed after his departure.
Social commentator Isaac Fayose has reacted with enthusiasm to Atiku Abubakar’s resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), describing it as a positive turning point for the opposition party.
Recall that Atiku, Nigeria’s former vice president and multiple-time presidential candidate, officially announced his exit from the PDP on Wednesday.
In response, Fayose expressed joy over the development, stating that the PDP now has a chance to reposition itself without Atiku’s influence. He shared his views publicly, asserting that the party is finally free to move forward.
Fayose also used the opportunity to call on Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, to return to the PDP and contest for the party’s ticket in the next presidential election. According to him, Obi’s return would breathe new life into the party and give Nigerians a credible alternative ahead of 2027.
His words …
“Good news Atiku has finally resigned from PDP. Good news! I have been trying to suspend him for years, e nor go. Finally baba don go. Third time in 20 years. This is what they call desperation.
For PDP, the biggest party in Africa, it is a welcome development. The Southerners will not have someone dragging their slot with them. It is a good news the party will have peace now. Third time going and coming, Baba finally don go. We hope e nor go come back this time. Mr Atiku! So you can allow the party because the proper opposition that it is supposed to be.
Atiku’s ambition has grounded the party for too long. I don’t know whether he forgot something in the villa. In and out of PDP, three times in 20 years. what shame!
I hope Obi can come back to PDP now because they have got a lot of spread. I hope Obi can come back now!”
