Fuji legend Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, has issued a public apology following the recent controversy at an airport involving a flask he was seen carrying.
In a statement released on Friday, K1 clarified that the flask in question contained only water, not alcohol, as speculated. He explained that he suffers from chronic dehydration and, on medical advice, always carries water with him during travels.
According to the musician, the flask was empty during the initial security checks and was only filled with water at the airport lounge prior to his movement toward the tarmac.
K1 firmly stated that contrary to online reports, he was neither deboarded from any aircraft nor did he attempt to board in a disorderly manner. He encouraged the public to review CCTV footage to confirm the accuracy of his claims.
Offering a heartfelt apology, he extended his regrets to the Presidency, the Ministry of Aviation, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), ValueJet, and the Nigerian public. He also reaffirmed his respect for national institutions and pride in maintaining a clean record over the decades.
