Unfortunately, Samsung is expected to skip upgrades in crucial areas, unlike rivals like Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi.
The launch of the Galaxy S26 series is likely still about six months away, given recent product cycles. Nonetheless, various sources continue to share details about Samsung’s next flagships well ahead of schedule. To that end, there were reports earlier this week suggesting that all Galaxy S26 models will feature various battery-related upgrades without necessarily gaining any battery capacity improvements.
According to Ice Universe and GalaxyClub, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will land next year with the same 5,000 mAh capacity as the current Galaxy S25 Ultra (curr. $859 – refurbished on Amazon). With that being said, Ice Universe reiterates The Elec’s earlier report by adding that next year’s Ultra will also keep its battery cooler when charging than this year’s version. On top of that, Ice Universe expects the lithium-ion battery inside the Galaxy S26 Ultra to shrink in size thanks to increased energy density.
Meanwhile, GalaxyClub states that the Galaxy S Ultra will feature a 200 MP primary camera for another generation. At this stage, the website is unsure whether Samsung will return to the venerable ISOCELL HP2 again, though. If that were the case, then it would see four generations of Galaxy S Ultra smartphones using the same primary camera, starting with the Galaxy S23 Ultra that debuted in February 2023.
