Controversial social commentator Geh Geh has taken aim at the Grammy Awards, accusing them of showing ongoing “disrespect” toward Nigerian music star Davido.
In a video that has gone viral online, Geh Geh claimed that the Grammys have lost significance for Davido, alleging that the organisers nominate him without any genuine intention of giving him the award.
He argued that Davido is being used to promote the Grammy brand in Nigeria and across the African continent. Geh Geh also recalled advising the singer in the past against submitting his work for Grammy consideration, warning that the awards were capitalizing on his influence in the African music scene rather than recognizing his talent.
Despite Davido’s repeated nominations, Geh Geh said the Grammy organisers are aware they are unlikely to award him, yet continue to include his name to maintain visibility in Africa.
He further suggested that Davido’s eagerness to win may have worked against him, adding that the award body does not fully value the singer.
Geh Geh also hinted that rival artist Wizkid might be pleased with the situation, though he did not provide additional details.

“In 2026, you allow Grammy dey rubbish you. Them don rubbish you, you no get value again. I remember when I made a video to advice Davido make e no dey submit him songs to Grammy. These people are using you to promote their award in Nigeria and Africa. But him just dey shout say ‘I want to win Grammy’ go and win Grammy na. Wizkid go dey happy now. This life wey we dey live eh, know where you stand for people life. You fit dey think say you be something for person life, make that person no rate you at all. Na that thing na him Grammy dey do Davido. Grammy know say dey can never give Davido that award but because them still need am to promote and market their award for Nigeria and Africa, na the only reason dey dey nominate Davido”
