The head coach of Barcelona Hansi Flick has given an update on his players who have been on the club’s injury list.
Flick was speaking about the players who have been injured during his pre-match press conference ahead of the League game against Elche. According to him, the injury to Pedri was a shock to everyone at the club especially after the performance he put up against Real Madrid in the El Clásico.
He said,
“Pedri’s injury has surprised us. After El Clásico, he only had minor discomfort but then we checked him and saw the injury. We’re missing one of our key players. We hope he can return very soon”.
He also gave an update on Lamine Yamal’s injury
“Lamine is fine, although some days he still feels a bit of discomfort. He is progressing well, that’s important. I spoke to Lamine. I’m always going to protect and help him, he’s young guy and fantastic one… and we’ll continue on the same path”.
He also confirmed that Lewandowski and Dani Olmo are back from injury ahead of key fixtures in the league and the UEFA Champions League.
Barcelona continue to hold their position near the top of the 2025/26 La Liga table, sitting in second place as the race for the title heats up. The Catalan giants have enjoyed a strong start to the season under their current management, showing consistency both at home and away.
