In other news… A Nigerian lady, identified as @miss_sarahkayy, has gone viral after revealing that she mistakenly recharged another person’s electricity meter with ₦300,000.
The entrepreneur and braider took to TikTok to express her frustration, saying, “I just mistakenly recharge someone else’s meter with ₦300k and IKEDC said they can’t refund or re-allocate.”
She explained that she immediately contacted the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC), but was told there was nothing they could do since the token had already been generated for the wrong meter.
Lamenting the situation, she added, “The funniest thing is, the token will waste if I don’t give it out to the owner of the wrong meter number. Why is the system so rigid?”
Her post drew sympathy and shock from many Nigerians online, with some tagging IKEDC to help and others advising her to always double-check meter numbers before making payments.
